ANNOUNCEMENTS at Holy Spirit and Around the Diocese.
8am Daily Adoration
9:45am Thursday Bible Study Group
4-4:45pm Sacrament of Reconciliation
5 pm Vigil Mass
All Masses are at 9 am and 7 pm
This is cause for celebration. We are for the first time in over two months welcoming people back to the public celebration of the Mass. As was written in my letter there are going to be several changes to the way we worship.
If you are sick, please remain home!
Please remember to social distance.
If you came in the same car or are part of the same family, you may sit together and come to communion together.
Please be aware that while precautions are taken you may be exposed to the Virus.
You are dispensed from the obligation to come to Mass until the end of June.
If you do not feel comfortable coming, then remain home. The Masses on the weekend will continue to be live-streamed.
There are masks and hand sanitizer by each entrance to the church. Please make use of both.
I know that masks are not comfortable, but they will reduce the risk of spreading germs when properly worn. Currently there is not a plan to add additional Masses on the Weekend. Keep in mind that with the dispensation from your Sunday obligation you can choose to come to a weekday Mass Monday through Thursday at 9:00am. Should the need arise we will revisit the weekend schedule.
UPCOMING EVENTS at Holy Spirit and Around the Diocese
There are lots of events taking place at Holy Spirit and around the Diocese. Please try to attend as many as you can!
Normally our C.C.D. program would start in our schoolhouse on the Sunday after Labor Day. This year, due to the current Corona virus situation, that will not be possible. We hope that later during this school year we can indeed have in person instruction, but for right now we will be sending some worksheets home. These worksheets will need to be completed and returned in a timely manner, usually 2 weeks after the work was assigned. Rather than following a book, we will be concentrating on basic catholic knowledge and prayers, there will be segments on Saints and Sacraments and so forth. For right now I need for you to register your children as you normally would. Registration forms are available in the Narthex and on our website at www.holyspiritmacon.org. You need to register your children no later than Labor Day weekend to give me time to assemble their packets. All students should pick up their packets after Mass on either Saturday, September 12th or Sunday September 13th. Students in Grades 5 through 8 should return their packets on the next weekend (after this they too will be on a 2-week schedule). Students in PreK through 4th grade need to return their work on the weekend of September 26th/27th. Everyone will receive their next packet when they return their work. There will be a small reward for them as well. This will be a challenging year. I am confident though, that if we work together the children of our parish can still learn and grow in their catholic faith. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 478 -788-6386 or by email: email@example.com.
