LADIES RETREAT

at Inner Path: A Gathering of Women at beautiful Villa Marie Center on the Isle of Hope at 6 Dolan Drive.
Sister Carol Beevers, SSJ, director of Mother of God House of Prayer in Alva, FL will facilitate the day,
"Experiencing Inner Freedom and Peace". Donation $10. Bring a bag lunch. Beverages and snacks provided.

PARENT'S BULLYING PREVENTION WORKSHOP
St. Joseph's School is sponsoring a workshop for parents, join them on October 5
to hear Mike Dreiblatt of Balance Educational Services teach strategies for combating bullying,
social aggression, and cyber bullying. This free workshop will be held in SJS cafeteria 6:30-8:30 PM
and is sponsored by St. Joseph's HASA. All parents are welcome no matter where your child attends school.

BLESSING OF PETS
In honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Fr. Ingram will have our annual Blessing of Pets on
Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the statue of our Blessed Virgin Mary in front of the church.
All pets are welcome, but should be handled properly on leashes on in cages. Each individual is responsible for the behavior of his or her pet. Mark your calendars now and bring your favorite animal to receive God's blessing.

CCW FALL DEANERY LUNCHEON
All ladies are invited to attend.  It will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 17
at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dublin

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The Knights of Columbus regular meeting will be on Oct 6 at 7:00 PM in the Knights hall behind St. Joseph.
K of C Tootsie Roll fund raiser will be the next two weekends, October 9-10 & 16-17.
Please support the Knights of Columbus.

SOUTHERN CROSS
Put faith in your opinions – subscribe to the Southern Cross.
The annual Southern Cross subscription drive is October 9 and 10.
Your $20 subscription will deliver 45 issues presenting a Catholic perspective on current events.
Each week you will find coverage of Church topics on a local and global scale. Please consider gift subscriptions and donations to cover the cost of someone else's subscription.
Subscription envelopes are in your Southern Cross and at the back of the church.

CALLING ALL LITURGICAL MINISTERS
There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Ushers after Mass on October 23 & 24. Any one that wants to continue in this Ministry must attend.
We would like to recruit new ministers if anyone is interested in this Stewardship opportunity.

CCW YARD SALE
The ladies of the Holy Spirit CCW will be holding a yard sale next Saturday, October 9.
They will need help on Thursday and Friday setting up. Contact Pam Harris if you can help with this ministry.




CATHOLICS COME HOME
Bishop J. Kevin Boland and diocesan staff will hold workshops for the "Ministers of First Impressions" in each of the seven deaneries of the diocese in preparation for the Catholics Come Home initiative.
"Ministers of First Impressions" are the people a returning Catholic is likely to encounter first in a parish—priests, deacons, teachers, faith formation staff, parish secretaries, ushers, Parish Council members, nursery staff.
The workshop for the Macon Deanery will be held on Friday, October 8 at
St. Joseph Catholic Church from 5:30 until 8:00 PM.

NEW MEMBERS
We extend a warm welcome to all who are visiting or are new to our parish.
If you attend Holy Spirit regularly and consider this your parish,
